Over the past 20 years, he has run various workshops and courses for a wide range of audiences, ranging from sportsmen to business managers, university students, and junior diplomats. He has also worked with various organizations in promoting the teaching of thinking and creativity.
For a number of years between 2000 and 2009, he promoted deBono thinking as an elective subject in his course “ Thinking out of the Box for Business Managers” which was endorsed and included within the curriculum of MBA students attending the EUROMED International Business Management College in Marseille, France.
In 1999, with the consistent support of Prof. Edward deBono, and following his personal experiences in running creativity classes in Malta’s Corradino Prisons, Norman designed and originated the WALLS programme ( Wanting and Learning Life Skills) as a structured curriculum that catered specifically for the needs of prison inmates, and later drug rehabilitation and harm reduction groups and units. These programmes were developed following Norman’s personal involvement and work experience with prison inmates during a a period of over 7 years.
In January 2004, Norman was invited to deliver a talk and share his ‘prison’ experiences at the Future By Design Conference for the world network of deBono trainers which was held in Arizona, USA.
Since 2005, Norman has been invited to lecture, train and run various workshops within the sporting, education and business sectors in the Maltese Islands.
During the same period, Norman has been invited to talk about Lateral Thinking, Creativity and Thinking Out Of The Box and to run workshops in countries including United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Russia, Latvia, Switzerland, Norway and Albania.
Norman’s talks are characteristic of his nature. They are replete with anecdotes, stories, humour, personal experiences, and mental aerobic exercises specifically designed to highlight Edward deBono’s teachings and theories regarding perception and the self-organising nature of the human brain.
